2017 Grinstein Jewelry & Design Scholarship Awards
On Thursday April 20th we hosted our first ever Grinstein Jewelry Scholarship Awards Event. The scholarship competition was open to all Oakland County high school junior and senior students attending high schools with jewelry programs. Three independent and esteemed jewelry professionals judged the competition. Each student entered one piece of wearable jewelry created within the past year.
We had a wonderful selection of entries using a variety of techniques and materials. Congratulations to all those who entered and, of course, to the winners!
First place: Laurel Lyngklip, Detroit Country Day, grade 11, for her piece named 'Lungs'.
Second Place: Lily Yarema, Cranbrook Kingswood, grade 11, for her piece untitled
Third Place: Michael Stebbins, Detroit Country Day, grade 12, for his piece named 'Wrapped in Gold'
Kayla Allen, Southfield High, grade 12, for her piece named 'Protect Life'
Sloan Kiriluk, Detroit Country Day, grade 11, for her piece named 'Vitam Post Mortem'
