Grinstein Jewelry and Design is the workshop and gallery of Richard Grinstein. Richard has been creating his distinctive designs in gold, platinum, and silver since 1976. In addition to his own work, the shop carries bridal jewelry by noted west coast goldsmiths Van Craeynest, as well as a select assortment of elegant vintage jewelry. Jewelry repairs welcome - specialized in laser welding services.

2018 Grinstein Jewelry & Design Scholarship Awards

Grinstein Jewelry & Design is proud to announce the winners of their second annual Grinstein Jewelry Scholarship Competition, generously co-sponsored this year by the Michigan Silversmith Guild. The competition was open to all local public and private high school juniors and seniors attending jewelry classes in Oakland County. This year’s entries were especially stunning and well crafted. Three independent jewelry professionals judged, and the three top prizewinners received scholarships of $500, $250, and $100. Honorable mentions and Jeweler’s Choice also went home with some cash and gift prizes from CR Hill, Stacked Deli and Brooklyn Pizza!

All winning entries will be displayed at Grinstein Jewelry and Design through Saturday, May 26th, 2018. Stop in to see the talent!

This year’s winners are:

First prize: Patsy Olson, West Bloomfield High School, grade 11, for ‘Caroline’.

Second prize: Joergen Klakulak, Detroit Country Day School, grade 11, for ‘Chameleon Ring’

Third prize: Connor McGeorge, Detroit Country Day School, grade 11, for ‘Aves Skeleton Necklace’

Honorable Mention: Sasta Sudhakaran, Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School, grade 11, for ‘US & Africa Submarine Cable Communication’

Honorable Mention: Isabella Rosenberg, Detroit Country Day School, grade 12, for ‘Leafly Details’
