We shopped multiple places for my engagement ring. However, Richard and his staff were the only individuals we met with that made us feel like this was truly a special part of our engagement/wedding and helped to make it so much more than a transaction. We decided immediately on also having them assist with our wedding bands. Mine was purchased, and Richard was able to size my husband's grandfather's ring perfectly (there is a small design that we were worried about stretching and distorting). I never thought of myself as a person who has their own "jeweler" but this team is amazing, always knows your name, your story, and exactly what you need. We love to go in now just to say hello and see what's new!

I searched and searched, both locally and outside of the state, for a jewelry designer/goldsmith who was as committed to creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece as I was. No one compared to the experience that Richard provided. The process of creating my dream engagement ring was far above my expectations. During the initial consultation we sat down together, and as I explained my dream piece and inspirations, Richard sketched out my vision, providing recommendations and options based on his expertise and vast knowledge of modern, art decor, vintage and victorian-style jewelry. I had full trust in his ability to create a piece that was intricate and detailed, with the high quality gold and platinum materials I requested. He kept me informed and involved from start to finish. We had 4-5 session through each phase of modeling, casting, tweaking and finalizing the ring. He was thorough in explaining his work, while allowing me to be a part of the process. He created a silver cast, so I could touch, feel and try the ring on. This was hugely valuable as no other jeweler would go through the effort of creating a metal/silver cast (some offer to do a wax model, many didn’t even offer that). His quote was very fair and reasonable, given the bespoke nature of his work. If you are someone who wants a truly customized piece and values a hands-on design experience, I highly recommend Richard. His passion and expertise is evident in every piece of work he creates. I was thrilled to work with such an exception local goldsmith.

Back when my husband and I were dating, he found Richard, knowing that a custom-design ring would be the best route for finding something I liked. Richard was extremely detail-oriented in understanding what I wanted as we went through each aspect of crafting the ring and sourcing the diamond. I am very particular and Richard was very patient! I got so lucky when ring shopping. I went to a few places on my first day out shopping and ran into Grinstein Jewelry. I was not very knowledgeable when it came to jewelry, rings, etc. Richard was the first person (out of many I saw) who actually took the time to explain everything I needed to know about diamonds and engagement rings. Richard helped me select a beautiful diamond, band, and mount all within my budget. Originally I wanted just a single stone, but a few days later I decided I wanted to add a halo attachment on the ring.
