2019 Grinstein Jewelry & Design Scholarship Awards
Grinstein Jewelry & Design is proud to announce the winners of their third annual Grinstein Jewelry Scholarship Competition, generously co-sponsored by the Michigan Silversmith Guild. The competition was open to all local public and private high school juniors and seniors attending jewelry classes in Oakland County. This year’s entries were especially stunning and well crafted. Three independent jewelry professionals judged, and the three top prize winners received scholarships of $500, $250, and $100. Honorable mentions and Excellence in Craftsmanship award winners also went home with some cash and gift prizes from Greek Islands, Stacked Deli, Brooklyn Pizza and a workshop from Armstrong Tool and Supply!
All winning entries will be displayed at Grinstein Jewelry and Design through Saturday, May 25th, 2019. Stop in to see the talent!
This year’s winners are:
First prize: Henry Cantor, Detroit Country Day School, for ‘SLAUGHTER’.
Second prize: Joergen Klakulak, Detroit Country Day School, for ‘Rose Box Ring’
Third prize: Lily Gandhi, Detroit Country Day School, for ‘DNA Chain’
Honorable Mention: Anushri Radhakrishnan, Detroit Country Day School, for ‘Asymmetrical Red’
Honorable Mention: Chloe Brown, Detroit Country Day School, for ‘Vanity’
Honorable Mention: Jared Butler, Waterford Mott High School, for ‘Angled Silver Ring’
