Grinstein Jewelry and Design is the workshop and gallery of Richard Grinstein. Richard has been creating his distinctive designs in gold, platinum, and silver since 1976. In addition to his own work, the shop carries bridal jewelry by noted west coast goldsmiths Van Craeynest, as well as a select assortment of elegant vintage jewelry. Jewelry repairs welcome - specialized in laser welding services.

Work will be judged by noted local jewelry educators & professionals and all entries will be exhibited at the store prior to the announcement of winners and an awards ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend and support the next generation of creative jewelers!

Annual Summer Sale 2016! Don't miss it!

This is our only sale of the year! Don't miss it!

The sale will kick off on Saturday July 23rd at 10:00 AM, coinciding with the Birmingham Day On The Town sidewalk event. Be sure to stop in to get the best pick of items 20-60% off!! Last day of the sale is August 6th.

As an extra reward, we are offering a 20% discount card for future use on repairs to any new people who sign up to our mailing list during the sale period! Think about all those earrings with broken posts, rings missing a stone, pearls and beads that could do with some TLC - we can fix them!

Lecture: Jewerly as Art: A Jeweler's Perspective by Richard Grinstein

This will be the third time Richard Grinstein presents his lecture 'Jewelry As Art: A Jeweler's Perspective', this time at NEXT senior center in Birmingham. We hope you can make it!

Looking at jewelry from the ancient world to modern times, goldsmith Richard will explore what jewelry communicates, how it does so, and the many facets of jewelry as art.

Richard originally gave this lecture at the Jewish Community Center back in November 2015 and then at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in March 2016 - due to popular demand he is giving it again!

Scholarship Competition - People's Choice Award

Come visit Birmingham April 14th - April 26th and take a tour of the jewelry stores to vote for your favorite 'Jewelers of Birmingham Scholarship Competition' jewelry piece! This year we have 44 entries from 10 Oakland County high schools - all the pieces will be displayed in participating jewelry stores in town.  The juried prize winners have been announced, but now it's up to YOU, the public, to pick your People's Choice winner, who will receive a 'Night on the Town' prize and, of course, your recognition for his/her hard work. We are very proud to have organized this event for the last 8+ years and I am very happy to continue as President of this wonderful association. Special thanks to Zanna my studio manager/ Secretary of the association!
